striving for the summit of eternal life
through our call to discipleship
and our relationship with Christ
Verso L'alto,is a phrase used by Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassat, who is known as a man of the beatitudes. Frassati was a Italian Catholic from a wealthy family who became an activist for social action and reform. As a role model for youth, this young man would often give his bus fair money to someone in need, truly living charity. He was an avid mountain climber and would often reflect about how he was ascending the mountain and how it could relate to ascending in one's faith.Verso L'alto towards the heights.
The goal of Verso L'alto is to take our high school youth to the heigh of their faith. To go deeper than just surface level Catholicism and their relationship with Christ. Through scripture, and a variety of prayers we seek to build their relationship with our Lord. Through small groups we seek to connect them to one another as members of the Body of Christ. Youth are challenged to see Doctrine and Morals the Church teaches as a path to relationship not just a set of outdated rules. Through some apologetic techniques, Catholic youth also learn how to explain their faith especially when challenged. We encourage all 9th through 12th graders to come join in learning about your Catholic faith and sharing with with one another then being challenged to share it with the world for our command is to "go make disciples of the nations."
